I couldn't possibly choose an album.
Never competed in motorsport, but I was a test driver for a BTCC Chevrolet Lacetti for a season as the driver reckoned, 'you're slow as shit, but you've got a unique understanding of the handling and balance of a car.'
French onion soup. I kill it.
And the best food ever was a paella in a dirty little local restaurant in Barcelona. Bloody fantastic.

R380 or 4hp22?
![]() 02/08/2015 at 19:25 |

The 'Quattro' air dam on the RS6. It makes the car less discrete and I think it removes from the aesthetics of the whole package.
![]() 02/08/2015 at 19:28 |

I'd guess around 7kgf/m.

I worked at a rover shop for almost 3 years. When I started there, used engines could be had for under $1k. They've since tripled and are very difficult to find in good running condition. We never went longer than a month without replacing an engine because the block had cracked or dropped a liner. We often tried head gaskets and checked the heads for cracks and all sorts of stuff, but it was often just shit blocks. They would consume coolant aggressively and over-pressurize the cooling system. We had dozens of junk engines sitting on shelves in the back of the shop. But on the plus side, they're great for coffee tables because they don't weigh very much!
![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:06 |

I know it was played regularly through my childhood, into the mid 90's at least.
As kids we use to come up with variations of this commercial where Tootsie was trying out new center fillings.
"Hey, Mr. Owl. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Grizzle Pop?"
"Let's Find out. 1....2.....splorch! BLLLAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!"

![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:08 |

Not quite yet. I turn 49 this November. My parents put me in school a little early, since I had a mid-school year birthday. Don't rush me!

Haha, I may be 28 but I have two good friends who have just hit 50. They're still the same people, don't worry about it! Let me ask you a question; what was your dream car as a kid?
![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:17 |
|
Do you like trucks?
![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:17 |

When I first started driving (1982), my two dream cars were the Fiat X1/9, because one parked across the street from me, and the VW Scirocco, because I started driving a Rabbit. Ausgeszeichnet!
![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:18 |

![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:20 |

I recommend. Especially if it's slippery.
![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:25 |

Euro 'trucks' and US 'trucks' fall into quite different categories, but I've driven an F-350 Super Duty before, and apart from the body roll it was a good bit of fun! I've driven countless pickups like L200s and Hiluxs, but never what we call a 'truck'. And yes; I like trucks.
![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:28 |

Aw man the x1/9 is one of my wants. I think BiTurbo has one (or had one, I think a tree might have fallen on it). Kudos on the Rabbit btw!
![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:28 |

Do you drive one?
![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:31 |

![]() 02/08/2015 at 20:39 |

It reminded me of an X-wing fighter. The one across my street was a bright, electric green. I was mesmerized. I wonder how hard it would be to put a proper engine in one.

Fiat Punto MK1 '60', my parents went 50/50 with me and it was one of the best for insurance. And perhaps more crucially, I was able to fit into it.
Bought a Series III first as a work vehicle about 5 years ago, and then got far too attached to it so retired it (from heavy work) and bought a Defender. I used to have a Discovery 4 too. It's not something I can really put my finger on, but for all of their little quirks and disadvantages, I absolutely adore them. I tend to keep mine down to brutal basics, rather than dressing them up with chequer-plate and aftermarket add-ons as seems to be the trend.
Sorry, not a great pic of the Series, I'm prepping it for paint atm so it's stuck in my barn.
